Jeeva Vihar is another landmark in the activities of Santhi Charitable Society. This functions under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Santhi Bhavan. A female catholic religious congregation called “Little Sisters of Mother of Sorrows” founded in Bologne, Italy and having a network of establishments in different locations in India are cooperating for the realization of this social venture. This new wing for the rehabilitation of female post psychiatric patients was operational since May 2003 as an annex to Santhi Bhavan. This may be the one and only such centres exclusively for women in the state of Kerala..

‘Jeeva Vihar’ in vernacular means the ‘house of life’. Jeeva Vihar is fully equipped to accommodate twelve patients apart from the convent for the supervising nuns. There are 2 female social workers to guide and help the patients in the rehabilitation process. Within a short period Jeeva Vihar is functioning to its full capacity needing further expansion.
